monday

The ugly truth is that we find it difficult to delight in the successes of others. We are far more concerned about our own portfolio than we are the wayward child, single mother and homeless beggar across the street.

We seem to be singularly obessed to be in a position financially that enables us to be detached from the pain and suffering of the poor. Perhaps the real reason why i give to a beggar is so that i feel good. Perhaps the motive behind my actions are afterall to give the impression that i am smarter, highly cultured and more attractive!

Serving one's self is the core of wordliness. It warps our morals and cripples our soul.

I guess its time to get a bit more genuine. To become as humble as i know how. Rearrage the price tags of the things in my life, and give back each one their true value.

(Mark 4:18-19)
"Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful."
