My Dad

So haha after yesterday's performance thingy, i've decided to blog about something that happened recently!! wanted to do this on the NE Blog but i forgot the password. oh wells haha i guess people DO visit my blog without my permission lah. An OUTRIGHT breach of personal private space. A LAW broken by many ignorant citizens. An audacious act in trying to find out about someone's personal life. A Social Crime as i like to call this shameful act of dishonesty. So please remember my fellow friends that whenever u visit MY blog, ALWAYS TAG!! ( giggles)

Okay so with that done, time to get down to business. =D

It was Wednesday and i woke up a little later that day, 6.25 to be exact. Well i had to school and i was probably going to be late. I dillied and dallied around hoping to find a " perfect" reason to pon ( this is some cool word that JC students like to use. it means pontanging which means absent lahhh) school. Finally i made up my mind, " OKAY LETS GO TA SCHOOL!!" right so out the door i went into my dad's car ( notice that i did not bother whether he would be late for his job or anything ) So as he drove out of the porch, i shamelessly asked him for a favour which i knew had only around 30 percent chance of success. " Dad can you send me to Ang Mo Kio instead? ( he usually sends me to braddell) i'm late." to my suprise, he said " okay"

So we continued driving on and on...then i noticed the sign which read " Ang Mo Kio" so i was like okay here we are. However, my dad did the most shocking thing he would ever do at 7.15 in the morning!! He just sped ahead in the highway. i turned to him and said " hey dad u just missed the highway exit. what now?" dad calmly replied " i'll send u to your school."

So several thoughts then shot into my mind. " what did i do to deserve this? i was dilly and dallying around and yet he is doing this.YJC IS REALLY FAR away and dad might be late for work!! all i wanted was to go AMK. but...he is sending me all the way instead!!! "

Well this incident really reminded me of god's faithfulness, grace and generosity in my life. In the same way, many times when i asked for something small, which was according to god's will, god always gave me not what i wanted, but MORE. I remembered all the times i earnestly cried out to him and without fail, he would answer. all i wanted was a sheep, but he gave me more. all i wanted was for my sisters to go to church, but he gave me so much more.

Humans are really forgetful. We often forget the things god has done in our lives. But this incident truely has reminded me that god was always there. He was real in the past and he is real now. May my gratefulness never cease and may my fire never die.

What have i EVER done for just a normal person to take his life for me? Or bear the beatings and the shame for me? But Jesus, not a normal person but God in Flesh came as a stand in for me. i was sentenced to death but he was hanged for me. how can i ever repay? i can never.

They say love is about giving and taking. I'm embarrased to say this is a relationship where I TAKE and HE GIVES. Its not fair at all. =D
